The 2026 San Mateo County Fair Creative Kids and Teen Exhibits Contest Books are here! Click the links for more information.
Creative Kids: For 5 year olds to 12 year olds. You can enter anything that you have made within the last year at 4-H, school, summer camp, home, etc. for FREE.
Teen Exhibits: For 13 year olds to 18 year olds. You can enter anything that you have made within the last year at 4-H, school, summer camp, home, etc. for only $1 per entry.
Examples of what to enter in Creative Kids and Teen Exhibits include drawings, paintings, photos, Lego creations, sculptures, sewn items - clothing or quilts, embroidery, knitting/crochet, leather working, woodworking, jewelry, paper crafts, preserves, baked goods, decorated food such as cakes or cookies, table settings, grown vegetable/fruit display, poetry, short stories, informational poster boards, share a fun fact, bookmark making, rock painting, and so much more!
Department of Innovation: No age limit. Enter for FREE!
Examples include create your own app or game; short film or video; conduct an experiment; upcycling, DIY in metalworking, woodworking, 3D printing, or other materials; fishing cart/bike; crab snare; model house.
It's pretty exciting to see your work displayed at the fair and you are awarded a ribbon. Some entries may even be awarded a small dollar prize!
Fair Farm: Please see page 3 of the contest book for details of how to enter and the deadlines/schedule of events. Please work with your Project Leaders and our Farm Leaders, Colleen and Jolene, to make sure your entries are entered correctly, you understand the requirements and rules, signed up for barn duty, etc.
Fair Farm Showmanship and Judging Schedule:
Saturday, June 7th
11AM: Poultry Showmanship followed by Show Bird Judging
1PM: Market Poultry Judging
3PM: Turkey Judging
Wednesday, June 10th
4PM: Pig Showmanship followed by Market Pig Judging
6PM: Rabbit Showmanship followed by Market Rabbit Judging
Thursday, June 11th
4PM: Beef Showmanship followed by Market Beef Judging
6PM: Goat Showmanship followed by Dairy Goat Judging, Market Goat Judging, & Miniature Goat Judging
Friday, June 12th
3PM: Small Animal Showmanship
4PM: Sheep Showmanship followed by Market Sheep Judging
6PM: Large Master Animal Showmanship
